It is a batch style

At our shop, we handcraft knives in small batches, typically featuring 2 or 3 distinct models at a time. Each batch undergoes several weeks of dedicated production before we move on to the next set. With a vast array of models, grinds, and configurations, it can take years to cycle through them all before revisiting a specific combination. However, due to their popularity, some combinations are produced more frequently than others. If you want to see a specific combination, reach out to us through email or social media. As we do take these things into account when it comes to what to run next. We also look at product restock notification numbers on products that are sold out to help to determine production.

It changes based around shows and other events

When it comes to shows, events, or holidays, we push to have high demand items or new products to offer. To ensure we have fresh and exciting offers, our production schedule adapts to accommodate these special occasions. This flexibility allows us to consistently deliver innovative and desirable knives, tailored to the unique demands of each event.

What are the advantages to the batch style:

Our batch production style creates a sense of anticipation and excitement, as you never know what will come out of production next. This approach also allows us to design unique accessories for each batch and introduce new models regularly. Since it's impractical and impossible to produce every model with every grind each year, our methodical batch style approach enables us to offer a wider variety of combinations, better accommodating what our fan base would like to see.

Exclusives

While we do release the majority of our products directly to our website, there are a few products that become dealer exclusives. A few of the dealer exclusives we have done in the past include:

Southern Edges

  • Eklipse 3.5” Bowies

USA Made Blade:

  • XM-18 3.5” Skinny Skinner
  • HalfTrack Wharncliffe
  • HalfTrack Bowie

DLT:

  • Deep Swedge Blades
  • Folders in M390
  • Warthog Theme
  • No Choil Blades

Monkey Edge:

  • Sparrow Grind
  • Frag Pattern
  • Folders in CPM 3V

Dealer Special Runs

Our dealers also order batches that, while not exclusive to them, consist of the entire production run of a particular batch. For example, DLT Trading frequently orders No Choil models and XM’s with fullered spearpoint blades. Although DLT does not have exclusive rights to RHK with fullered spear blades (there are fullers on other models ie the Halftrack), they often receive most of these batches due to their consistent orders of them. Similarly, EKnives orders Nonflipper Eklipses, and USA Made Blade frequently orders Halftrack Harpoon Spantos.

Conclusion

At Rick Hinderer Knives, our batch production style keeps things exciting, as you never know what's coming next. We craft each knife with care, focusing on quality and innovation. We also adapt our schedule for special events and holidays to bring you fresh and exciting products.

Our exclusive editions and dealer-specific runs ensure there's always something unique to discover. We love hearing from you, so reach out with your preferences, and keep an eye on our restock notifications.

Stay tuned for our next release—you never know what cool new knives are just around the corner!
