Rick Hinderer began his journey as a farrier and horse trainer, where he honed his forging skills—eventually leading him to create Damascus art knives. Over time, he shifted his focus to crafting hard-use folding knives, becoming a leader in innovation and design. Rick has designed for major brands like Kershaw and Gerber, and his groundbreaking Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer (LBS) is now a standard across the knife world. Today, Rick still loves to forge and make custom knives all while still growing and leading Rick Hinderer Knives.
