Rick's Special Projects

Rick started out as a ferrier and horse trainer, and the forging he learned as a ferrier would eventually lead him to making damascus art knives. Over time Rick switched his focus to making hard use folding knives and became one of leaders in innovation and design. He has designed for companies such as Kershaw and Gerber, and his Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer (LBS) is now a standard within the high end folding knife community. He did all of this while at the same time growing his own brand (Rick Hinderer Knives) into being one of the top brands within the industry. Today, Rick still loves to forge and make custom knives all while still growing and leading Rick Hinderer Knives.
